Inositol or cyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexol is a chemical compound with formula C6H12O6 or (-CHOH-)6, a six-fold alcohol (polyol) of cyclohexane. It exists in nine possible stereoisomers, of which the most prominent form, widely occurring in nature, is cis-1,2,3,5-trans-4,6-cyclohexanehexol, or myo-inositol (former names meso-inositol or i-inositol).[2][3] Inositol is a carbohydrate, though not a classical sugar. Its taste has been assayed at half the sweetness of table sugar (sucrose).[4][5] myo-Inositol plays an important role as the structural basis for a number of secondary messengers in eukaryotic cells, the various inositol phosphates. In addition, inositol serves as an important component of the structural lipids phosphatidylinositol (PI) and its various phosphates, the phosphatidylinositol phosphate (PIP) lipids.

Product Features

  • Inositol powder benefits¬†have recently reached the mainstream after a number of studies showed that it can significantly improve the strength and health of your hair, as well as aid its growth. Actually, there are a number of inositol benefits that have been quite extensively researched and proved – you just don’t hear about them. Regardless of how you found out about it, inositol is a very powerful vitamin that can have a big impact on your health. But what exactly is it?
  • Another great benefit of inositol (as part of the B-complex) is that it can have a positive impact on body cells.
  • Also, inositol is known to participate in the action of serotonin production in the brain and nerve systems that responds well to mood stabilizers.
  • A lack of inositol in your system can cause excessive relaxation of the muscles in your intestines and alimentary canal, which leads to constipation. Inositol works to stimulate the muscular action and ease the pain of constipation. The same effects can be used in pregnant women to stimulate the muscular contractions in pregnancy to induce labor.
  • In short, inositol is a member of the vitamin B complex and is often referred to as vitamin B8 (although it’s not really a vitamin at all). Inositol is actually a naturally occurring glucose isomer – if you want to get technical! Inositol benefits your body in a number of ways by transporting fat throughout your body and it also aids the neurons in your central nervous system to make sure everything is running smoothly. Inositol also functions very closely with another popular nutrient, choline, and both have huge health benefits.

This is a high quality supplement, that was easy to swallow and left no bad after taste in my mouth. The expiration date is well over a year away so its nice to see they are not pushing old product, as sometimes I get supplements that expire in just a few months when I order online and that is super annoying cause I know if I would have seen it in the store I would have selected another bottle or even another brand, no point in taking old supplements as they lose potency. I’ve had no side…
